The fluent translation is traditional/conservative so I wouldn't recommend this on translation alone for Western audiences. There are two translations in English - the word-by-word which is under each word, and the more fluent translation by ayah which runs along the sides of the page. I read this for Ramadan and this was just great for all my purposes. It is a great handheld size, good for read alongs in taraweh. it is not bulky (I read the A5 size, which is smaller than A4 I believe). It is the whole Qur'an, which is great since previously most word-by-word translations were in several volumes.
